General Conditions of the project

Because of the availability of fossil fuels the solar energy had so far no significant importance in Russia. The decision of the Russian government in 2013 to promote renewable energies by 2020 (of them solar energy 1.8 GW) has internationally directed and promoted attention to the economic opportunities who are offered. The decision by the Russian Government serves among others an incentive for investment. The framework has been significantly influenced by set a "local content clause", high share of added value (≥ 50%) in their own country.

DPU Investment GmbH is concerned with the promotion and establishment of solar energy since 2009, has sifted the market, establish contacts, and set an example on the grounds of the Space Museum in Moscow with the realization of a PV pilot project in the context of the solar roof program of German Energy Agency (dena) and renowned German partners in October 2010, and closed an agreement to develop a project for the construction of a solar production in Russia by OOO "Kvant" in May 2011.

The Project

Design and build a production of monocrystalline solar cells and modules with a capacity of 130 MW in Russia / Krasnodar based on the technology of Roth & Rau AG / Meyer Burger.

In September 2011, at the tenth International Investment Forum in Sochi, DPU Investment GmbH and the Administration of Krasnodar signed an agreement, the basis for the planning and implementation of the investment project, and presented the project with the support of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations.

The project was added to the list of the flagship projects of the Russian government and will supported and assistanced of the administration of Krasnodar, the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Krasnodar, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the German Energy Agency (dena) and the Eastern Committee of German economic.

Aim of the Project

Realization of the project until the end of 2016 / start of production and creation of precondition for participation in the evolving solar market in Russia. Promote exports of German machinery and technology. Contribution to the diversification of economic relations with the international climate protection.
